Transaction monitoring is an essential component of financial risk management, the obligation of which emanates from the PLMFTR and features through the FIAU Implementing Procedures Part I with a dedicated section within the requirements of Customer Due Diligence, with specific sectorial guidance in the FIAU IPs part II. The monitoring objectives are to spot suspicious trends, reduce any risks, and adhere to any applicable legal obligations, including sanction circumvention.
